June 2024
Some big news this month! After 50 years of serving the community and all of South Texas, Alarm Security & Contracting has entered a new chapter with the decision to pass the torch to a new company, Summit Fire & Security. We made this very difficult decision primarily because Summit Fire & Security offered something that companies like ADT and the like couldn't. A place for our employees to thrive.
Envision Summit Fire & Security like a nation-wide Alarm Security with over 4,000 employees. They love their customers and most of all, employees. The benefits, opportunities and future they can provide them are something we could never beat, and we couldn't be happier to have found a more responsible company to carry that torch.
So what next? There's a bit of transitioning. You are one of thousands of customers we are moving to new billing and service systems, and we thank you so much for being patient with us as we do it right with the best intentions for you. Alarm Security employees are learning these new systems and processes and will be doing their best to continue providing great service at the same time.
Personally I'm delighted to have had the pleasure and opportunity to speak with some of you over the months. I've learned a lot as the interim General Manager, but now your new GM will be Blair Cuherpin. She's my favorite person, and I trust she'll take care of you for many years to come!

March 2024
Alarm Security has been monitoring its own customers for decades, something the founder was always very proud of. Unfortunately, that side of the business has never made much in terms of profit, as prices were very low, and many customers were never billed. It's something I've always known, and now that we're running the company, has worried me. In addition we're constantly met with operational challenges that move our eyes off of you, and I simply don't like having sleepless nights worrying about our own monitoring group doing their job correctly. I'd rather worry about our service team fixing your alarm, camera, fire system ASAP, and making sure we're billing you correctly.
Therefore, effective March 12, 2024, we have made the switch to a company that is in the business of monitoring customers like you, located in both Louisville and San Antonio to ensure your life and property is protected properly. They are far more certified and experienced than we ever have been and in my eyes, one of the best in the business. All circuits, IP address - everything is being properly routed to them where their top-notch team is able to dispatch more quickly, concisely and more professionally. What do you need to do? Nothing, unless you're unsure of your password/pin. If you accidentally set off your alarm, and you say "sunny days" when your password is "sunny day", chances are they'll send police. Our advice will be to call our number 361-857-5615 and request to update your password/pin if you're unsure about that.
When you call our number, you'll have two options. Press 1 to report a false alarm, or otherwise stay on the line. When they answer, they'll be more thorough, asking more questions about you, so please be patient with the new dispatchers. At that point, if you have a billing question or issue, they'll take your info and email billing, who will respond within 2 hours via phone. You can also email them directly at [email protected]. If you have a service call, just ask for service and if service is available, you'll be transferred immediately. If they aren't available, they'll call you back within 1 hour. Sales works the same as service.
So yes, March has been a very busy month for us, with many changes. But we're doing it to become 100x better than what we were - at least that's our vision.

January 2024
Beginning January 1, 2024, we'll be using a new accounting system, as the old one was unable to keep up with today's demands. Moving forward, all invoices and statements will be delivered via email. If you would like an electronic statement, create a new account at http://alarmsecurity.com/new, or email [email protected] with your account number, address being monitored and the email address you'd like us to use. If you still desire a paper invoice and statement, we will a $5 monthly paper fee to your account.

September 2023
We're sad to announce that our founder, Felix Ochoa III passed peacefully on September 9. He started Alarm Security & Contracting, inc. in 1974, and over the past 50 years, grew the business through hard work and focus on customer service. He will be truly missed. His children, Kim Ochoa Reed and Felix Ochoa IV will take ownership of the company, and with my help and a very experienced background in business, we plan to usher in new ideas to streamline Alarm Security. My promise to you is to always treat you fairly and do our absolute best in fire, life and safety.
